The founder of Sound Healing Africa is a Kenyan of Indian origin who has studied sound healing in the land of its origin, Nepal. She has been practicing sound healing now for 6 years, and recently completed her advanced training and teacher training – with strict instructions from her teacher to spread the knowledge passed down to her back home in Kenya and throughout Africa, to ensure sound healing is practiced with ethics, and based in scientific knowledge as well as its spiritual origins.

Narissa has been a meditator since her early years, taught initially in the Sufi tradition, and meditation is her go-to daily sadhana till date. She has played the flute since she can remember – initially the orchestral flute but now she has embraced her roots to study the Indian bamboo flute (the bansuri), which she does under the tutelage of Kirit Pattni, and of Himanshu Nanda, founder of the Mystic Bamboo in Pune, India. 

She attributes her journey into sound healing to her best friend Janine Juma, who transitioned from this world to the other realms in November 2017. Since then, guided by this angel, she has been sharing sound healing therapy in personal sessions, groups, ceremonies, retreats, workshops, conferences and festivals. She finally started recording her meditation and sound healing tracks last year, which will be available across platforms very soon.
